Image Groups

Image groups in KatanaPIM offer a flexible, efficient way to manage and organize product images, important for businesses with a wide range of products.

Managing & creating image types & layers

Managing image types and layers in KatanaPIM allows for a more organized and effective presentation of your product images. Your image groups contain 2 or more image types.

  • Step 1: Navigate to the 'Catalog' and select 'Image groups.' This area lets you adjust your image group settings. Click on 'Types'.
  • Step 2: In the 'Add image type' section, select your desired image layers (type, position, framing or more). You can also add additional layers here.
  • Step 3: As you create a new image tile, preview it in real-time. Click 'Add image type' to save and see your tile appear in the list of pre-configured product image tiles.
  • For quick access to specific tiles, use the filtering option. You can see your pre-configured tiles on the right side of this page.


Creating a new image group

Creating image groups helps categorize images based on product types or other criteria.

  • Step 1: Click 'Add new' under the Image groups section to create a new group. (Catalog > image groups)
  • Step 2: Name your group and select the preset image tiles on the left that you need for this group.
  • Step 3: You can also add new image types directly from this page. Create your tile and add it to the group.
  • Step 4: Rearrange the order of tiles within the group as needed by dragging and dropping.
  • Step 5: Once completed, click 'Save' to finalize your new image group.

Adding image groups for your products (manually)

  • Step 1: Go to 'Manage products' in your catalog and open the product you wish to edit.
  • Step 2: Under the 'Images' tab, click 'Edit' (or Mappings > images). Here, you can choose and add the image group you have created, like the one for suitcases.

  • Step 3: Drag and drop your images into the appropriate tiles in the image group. This helps you organize and ensure all necessary images are included.
  • Step 4: Once all images are in place, click 'Save' to apply the changes to your product.
